Makenzi's party was at the Clay Cafe, a pottery shop where you paint your pieces and they fire and glaze them for you. Mak and Syd love this store and enjoy anything that involves painting! We had fifteen kids show up for painting and cake. It was messy (and a bit chaotic) but loads of fun. Her theme was the Wizard of Oz, and other than the cake screw-up, the decorations were adorable. After lots of painting (many of the kids chose cute ornaments to paint), lots of cake, and tons of presents later, Makenzi's birthday was a hit!
I always let the girls pick out their own party decorations, and Makenzi did a great job again this year! Who doesn't love the Wizard of Oz? Besides the cake screw-up, it was an adorable theme!
The treat baskets were so stinkin' cute, too! Sydni really wanted there to be a Toto in there, but we decided to go for candy and ruby slippers instead.

Ready for cake! The cake is a whole other story...good grief. United bakery screwed it up royally, so that's why I didn't get a good shot of it. It was so ugly, but the birthday girl didn't seem to mind it! It was SUPPOSED to look like the Emerald City from the Wizard of Oz, but no, it was closer to the Wizard of BLOB. Horrendous!
