Sydni's 5th Birthday Pancakes!

Sydni made me re-light the candle five more times just so she could blow it out. I'm not sure why blowing out candles is so much fun, but both of the girlies love to do it!
Holding back her hair, because we can't afford to lose more of it up front! Ha!
The morning of Sydni's birthday was so hectic (it was the last day of school), we didn't have time to continue our pancake tradition. For dinner that night, we had pancakes to compensate, and of course, Makenzi had to blow out a candle, too. We are still in shock that our baby is five years old!

Sydni's Coffee Shoppe

The girls were taking all of the gifts out of the packaging this morning, and I opened up the Barbie play coffee machine Aunt Layci bought for them. They took it back into the bedroom to play, and I heard Makki saying, "Can I take your order?" and then Sydni say, "I need uh, vanilla mocha." (Maybe I go to Starbucks way too much with them! Sydni knows my order, and forgot to say "grande", or it would be right on the money!) When I walked back there to see what they were doing, Sydni was using the bunk bed ladder for her window, and Makenzi was using my grocery list pad to take her order. How cute is that?! They keep me entertained, that's for sure! They re-enacted the order for me after I found my camera! Mak played the part of the barista very well, saying, "Is that all?" when Syd finished her order.
I ordered a mocha too, and Sydni made it for me! Maybe she could work at Starbucks part-time in high school?
Mak's turn. They had a ball!
So much fun stuff...where, oh, where will we put it all?!
Plenty of help opening gifts...
The mob!
Cute party-goers!

Check out Donnie in his luau gear...he worked his booty off to get ready for this party! Awesome Daddy!
Huge, huh? They had sooooo much fun on the slide! Thank you, Pawpaw, Jeri, and Aunt McCaleb! You rock!

Sydni's Luau!

Sydni had a crazy-fun fifth birthday party on Saturday. Not only did we have everything for the perfect luau, we also had TWO water slides. Pawpaw and Jeri Kate gave her a HUGE 2nd waterslide, basically because she asked for it! She is spoiled rotten, we know, but we love her! Thank you to our friends and family who made long trips, or worked us in to your busy Saturday to attend the big shin-dig! We played in the water for an hour, had some hula girl cake & ice cream (and some adorable fruit kabobs that Granny Deb put together) and opened gifts. Kids also enjoyed the trampoline, play house, sandbox, and swing set. Did I mention my children are thoroughly spoiled? I'm going to start charging admission to our backyard to earn some summer dough! We have so much stuff to play with, that my children should never say they have nothing to do! Love to our friends and family, who made Sydni's special day memorable and unforgettable!

Unusual Birthday Gift Request...of course, Made By Sydni!

Sydni has been known to request odd things for her birthday. Well, not necessarily odd, just off the wall and totally unexpected for her age bracket, I guess. Like how she wanted boxing gloves for her 3rd birthday, and Granny Deb obliged and found her mini boxing gloves! Or let's not forget her recent request for a Snuggie! She thinks of the goofiest stuff to request for gifts! For example, she recently requested a "thingy you wear when you're sleepin'". I had no clue. After a few minutes of prodding, and of course her acting out in mime-fashion what she was talking about, I figured out that she wanted a sleep mask. I think you are an offical diva when you wear a sleep mask! I had no clue where to begin looking for one, and luckily one of my co-workers knew exactly where to look when I was telling her about Sydni's odd request. Apparently, you can easily find them in Walmart or Target in the bath & body aisle. Who knew!? I gave her a birthday gift a day early so she could wear her sleep mask the last night she was a four year old! HA! She squealed when she opened it and saw that I had found her coveted sleep mask! After trying it on, I might have to become a diva and get me one! Very comfy! I love this goofy gal!

Friends Next Door!

We've made a few new friends with our neighbors across the street, and it is so cool to have someone to play with the girls that live so close! Tia and Taylor have lived next to us for over a year, but we just recently started hanging out with them and their parents. I'm not sure what took us so long to introduce ourselves, but we are so glad we finally did!

Tia and Sydni played for hours on the waterslide!

Tia can also pose just as well and Sydni! A match made in heaven!

Painting Shirts

We had a few shirts that the girls use to play in, and Sydni decided she would like the shirts if they were "more pretty." That meant she needed to paint them in order to make them more attractive. I think she decided she needed to paint something made out of cloth when she saw me painting Pop and Granny's aprons. So of course, her wish was granted! Sydni is doing much better with her brush control, but Makenzi still likes to make big blobs that she gives a label, but the blob never really looks like what she said it is! We are so dang crafty, aren't we?

Cowgirl Makki

Makenzi cracks me up with the different get-ups she creates, totally on her own. She strolled into the living room the other day with this outfit on, and insisted that every address her as "Cowgirl Makki" throughout the day. Love my little stinker!

Just Call Her Miss Photogenic!

A picture of our graduate provided by the daycare. I think it might be one of my favorites!

The Countdown Has Begun!

We are definitely ready for summer! Tuesday will be the start of our last week of school, and both the girls and I are counting down the days. Every morning is a struggle for us to get up and be ready on time. The sun staying out so late makes it very difficult to get in bed before ten, so the girls are zombies at 6:30am and not very cooperative when it comes to getting dresssed, teeth brushed, and breakfast in their bellies before we leave! I can't wait for the lazy mornings and hot afternoons playing on the waterslide and sunning in the back yard! To prepare for the upcoming weeks, the girls put on their new swimming suits and modeled them for me!
Little Miss Thang thinks she is a model...
Makenzi is not really interested in modeling for the camera, instead she likes to "ham" it up!
Makenzi convinces Sydni to make funny faces.
They are losing all of their baby fat! The long legs are from their Daddy!

SNUGGIES!

Sydni loves the SNUGGIE commercial, and has been requesting one for quite some time now! Luckily, Granny Marla is an awesome seamstress and saved me from having to buy the glorified blanket with sleeves! She made both Sydni and Makenzi their very own SNUGGIE, and in my opinion, they are much, much better than the store-bought version. She made them out of very soft and cute material, which makes me kind of want one! Thanks for the adorable graduation presents, Granny!

Sydni's Graduation Songs

The Graduate!

Sydni graduated from preschool today. It was an adorable ceremony! Discovery Depot has done an amazing job taking care of our little girls, and their pre-K class has been so much fun for Sydni. Not to mention the fact that she has learned so much this year. I'm certain she will be a full-blown reader by the end of the summer. She was so excited and nervous "graduating" today. Check out the pictures!

Miss Lindy is about to send her down the aisle.

I LOVE this picture of Donnie and Sydni. So precious!

Cute girls and Cooper. He's a doll!

Not her boyfriend! Donnie will not let me say that Cooper is Sydni's boyfriend. (But he is one of her favorite friends that happens to be a boy!)
